No objects, no seer.

When objective knowledge comes to an end,
the seer does not survive as a seer.
At that moment, the pride of "I" melts away.
- Dasbodh; Chapter 6, subchapter 10
The seer remains only as long as the objects are seen as real.
The ego is conceptual, as is the seer. If you call this city as "Bombay", then it appears as Bombay. If you call it "Earth," then it appears as Earth. It all depends upon the seers concept. If you call a thing a chair, it is perceived as a chair, while if you call it wood, it is percieved as wood.If you call all as Brahman, then everything is perceived as Brahman.
If you call it the world, it is perceived as the world. Perception of objects depends on the concept of the seer. But Brahman is beyond concept. It cannot be captured by any concept. There is a woman whom one man calls his wife, another man calls his sister, and a third man calls his daughter. Actually, she is nothing but an animated lump of flesh and bones. The experience of "her" is based upon ones concepts. All that is seen and known is conceptual, and depends on the concept of the "seer."
The world and the experiencer are conceptual. The "seer" who calls manifestation as "True" is the ego. This ego should be eradicated. If the ego vanishes, only Brahman remains.
